What a great ride it was!  Whit Monday 29 May, 14,114 participants got on their bikes in the morning to cycle past all the Frisian towns. After a frris start, the sun slowly broke through. There was a strong north to north-east wind, which ensured that the cyclists from Dokkum reached Bolsward quickly.  From Bolsward it was downwind to Spannenburg. From Stavoren, the final stretch went against the wind again. In the end, 13,535 people finished. A very high number.

Fortunately, the number of accidents and breakdowns was limited. And after last year's experience, it was also a great day for our organisation, which went almost flawlessly.

Our thanks go to:

1. all the 800 volunteers who made this tour possible, fantastic;
2. our partner organisations who provide materials, facilities and what participants are offered along the way;
3. municipalities, the province of Fryslân, the Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management, and the Safety Regions, which provided the necessary permits, licences and advice on safety;
4. the various contractors working on the route who arranged everything neatly so that the participants could still make optimal use of the road;
5. the public who provided a fantastic atmosphere.

Next year, the 87th edition of the Cyclingelf Cities is scheduled for Whit Monday 20 May 2024. Pre-registration will start in November. We hereby announce a different way of registration. In October, we will inform you in detail about how this works.
