Cycle tour 1 June 2020 will not take place.

The Dutch gouvernment announced on Monday March 23rd that all events and gatherings will be prohibited until June 1st. Reason is a stricter policy to prevent further spread of the Corona virus.

This means that the bicycle city tour on Whit Monday, 1 June, and the MINI on Whit Saturday, 30 May, cannot go ahead. So the Whitsun weekend will be quiet on the streets of Bolsward.

This is the second time in the 108th anniversary of the bicycle city tour that the bicycle city tour has been cancelled due to health measures. In 2001 the bicycle city tour could not take place due to the foot and mouth crisis. As was the case at the time, despite the government's ban, the board itself does not consider it responsible to allow the bicycle inner-city tour to go ahead.

According to the rules, the board is not obliged to refund the entry fee to the participants. The board will come up with a proposal to meet the participants in a certain way.
