Eleven Cities Bicycle Tour delayed!

On 11 March of this year, we informed you about the way we want to give you the opportunity to cycle the Eleven Cities Bicycle Tour individually this year. To that end, we have developed an app, which is now ready to be tested by us.

In the past few weeks, we held consultations with the Fryslân Safety Region and the municipalities involved. The COVID-19 situation is still so serious that even cycling the Eleven Cities Bicycle Tour using this app is not yet possible in a responsible manner.

Based on the consultations held with the Safety Region and the municipalities, and based on the Dutch national government's reopening plan, it looks like that the Eleven Cities Bicycle Tour can be cycled using the app in the period from 7 July through to 5 September 2021. Of course, this is subject to the fact that, by that time, the situation has improved such that the tour can be cycled responsibly – we remain dependent on national developments and COVID-19 measures. In the weeks to come, we will be staying in close contact with the Safety Region and the municipalities involved. Please keep a close eye on this website.

On or around 15 June, participants will receive their login codes for cycling the tour. These login codes replace the participant card that you used to receive from us.
The information will include instructions on how to download the app, and how to link the login code to your Eleven Cities Bicycle Tour account.

Next year, the Eleven Cities Bicycle Tour will celebrate its 110-year anniversary. We hope to see all of you again in Bolsward on Whit Monday, 6 June 2022.

For now, we hope for a beautiful summer with perfect cycling weather and wish you lots of cycling fun.

Sporty regards,
The Board of the Eleven Cities Bicycle Tour Association
